Washington Redskins 2013 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2013 Washington Redskins Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2013 regular season
win total betting line
for the Washington Redskins set at 8 wins…
This number represents a year over year
increase of 1.5 wins compared to last season’s win total line of 6.5,
which the Redskins blew past en route to a (10-6) record.
Yet looked at another way,
oddsmakers have set this season’s win total line 2 full wins below the Redskins prior season record
of (10-6).
Much of this line of course has to do with the health of
QB Robert Griffin III. How will he respond coming back from his knee injury?
Will he hold up the full season?
Another key element; half of Washington’s wins last season came against division
rivals Dallas, Philadelphia, and NY Giants, mostly towards the end of the season with
those squads suffering from injuries and less than full strength.
Of course the Redskins
had to contend with their own key injuries. So with
Griffin, Orakpo, and Meriweather returning to the lineup, not to mention hopes
for Garcon & Davis to play the full season,
conventional wisdom would indicate Washington should easily go over the 8 win total.
However, it seems oddsmakers
are anticipating a stronger effort from division rivals Dallas & New York, as each of these squads
has been installed with a higher season win total line compared to Washington.
Is this
disparity a tip
from oddsmakers to fade Washington? Or is it the result of heavier wagering in Vegas
from the large
New York & Dallas markets?
Schedule Analysis:
In 2013 the Redskins’ schedule strength will be slightly
stronger compared to last season on paper. Unfortunately,
if you break it up between home games and road games you find
the home games rate as easy, and the road games rate as difficult.
Tough road games include;
@Green Bay in week 2
@Dallas in week 6
@Denver in week 8
@Minnesota in week 10
@Atlanta in week 15
@NY Giants in week 17
A trip to Philadelphia in week 11
could prove to be a stumbling
block.
Tough home contests include;
Chicago in week 7,
San Francisco in week 12,
NY Giants in week 13,
Dallas in week 16.
Record Projection:
In 2013 we project the Redskins to go (9-7), topping the Vegas win total
of 8 games. While the Redskins’ SOS on paper is slightly below .500 overall,
their road SOS is very tough with the winning % of their
opponents checking in at .563… This fact alone could put a damper on Washington’s
efforts to reach double digit wins in 2013.
