Washington Redskins 2007 NFL Projection:
The Washington Redskins find a schedule in 2007 with a whopping nine games versus teams that made
the playoffs last season, thanks in part to the rest of the NFC East qualifying for the postseason in 2006.
Other than the six division games versus 2006 playoff teams, Washington will have to line up versus
the following other playoff teams from last season; at New England,
at N.Y. Jets, and versus Chicago- each of which qualifies as one of only six teams
that allowed less than 300 points last season.
And if the schedule wasn’t looking tough enough, throw in
the opener versus Miami, yet another of the six teams in the NFL to surrender less than 300 points
last season.
With such a tough defensive schedule, Jason Campbell will likely have his work cut out for
him in his first full season as
quarterback.
Thankfully, Campbell has a duo of dynamite running backs to hand the ball off to. Not to mention
Santana Moss and Chris Cooley on the receiving end. But the loss of Derrick Dockery at left guard
could cause problems, especially when facing the above mentioned tougher defenses.
On the defensive side of the ball the Redskins made a solid acquisition in London Fletcher, but it’s the
defensive line that really needs to play better than last season, especially since
the Redskins are in a division with
three high powered offenses.
Overall we’re predicting a record of (5-11) for the Redskins in 2007, as the schedule looks extremely difficult.
If nothing else, young QB Jason Campbell should gain a lot of experience from this tough slate of games,
which may help to improve the Redskins odds off success next season…
