St. Louis Rams 2007 NFL Projection:
The Rams were cruising at (4-1) last season until they ran into a five game stretch that included Seattle twice,
at Carolina, at San Diego, and Kansas City. Suddenly the Rams were (4-6). Most damaging were the
two 2-point losses
to Seattle which effectively killed the season. Overall the Rams finished at (8-8).
In 2007 the Rams lose Kevin Curtis from the offense, but add Drew Bennett and Randy McMichael.
With Bulger, Jackson, Holt, Bruce, Bennett, and
McMichael, the Rams will be tough to stop in the red zone… St. Louis needs Orlando Pace
to make it through the season injury-free, having missed eight games in 2006.
However, one must wonder whether the Rams would have been better off
committing more resources to the defense during the off-season, as St. Louis
surrendered the fifth most points in the NFL in 2006.
In 2007 the Rams’ schedule includes eight games versus what most would consider to be
playoff caliber teams as follows;
As a result, we don’t see the Rams recapturing their former glory.
However, the Rams’ offense will probably be
potent enough to get a fair number of wins,
especially in their eight other games, in spite of their weak defense.
Overall, we’re predicting what many might consider to be a generous record of (9-7) for the St. Louis Rams in 2007,
as we believe St. Louis’ offense should be able to dominate a defensively weak division, perhaps
squeaking out the division title.
