New York Giants 2011 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2011 New York Giants Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
Oddsmakers currently have the regular season
win total betting line for the New York Giants set at 9 wins…
This represents reduction of 1 win from the Giants’
prior year regular season mark of (10-6).
Part of this line has to do with a bit of uncertainty and transition
on both the defensive line and the offensive line.
There’s also uncertainty at the WR
position. Who will play in the slot?
Furthermore, season ending injuries in the secondary
have dropped the line to 9 from 9.5 in some sportsbooks.
Finally, playing in the NFC East is what keeps
this number in the single digits.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2011 the Giants will play 7 games versus teams that made the postseason
a year ago. This is the identical number of such matchups compared to the
previous season;
Of course, the Seahawks in their current state of affairs can essentially be removed from the above list.
Other potentially competitive matchups include;
@Washington in week 1 (looking much improved this preseason), St. Louis in week 2 (also
looking much improved),
Miami in week 7 (stiff defense), @Dallas in week 13, Washington in week 14,
and Dallas in week 17…
Lighter competition includes;
@Arizona in week 4, Seattle in week 5, Buffalo in week 6,
and @San Francisco in week 10.
Record Projection:
In 2011 we project the Giants to go (10-6), topping the
Vegas season win total of 9 games. We believe consistent and injury free
line play on both sides of the ball is what the Giants would
need to turn in any further upside surprise.
Of course injuries could wreak havoc in the other direction.
