New England Patriots 2013 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2013 New England Patriots Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2013 NFL regular season
win total betting line
for the New England Patriots set at 11 wins, a slight downtick from the 11.5 seen before
the Aaron Hernandez news.
This represents a decrease of 1 win from last year’s season
win total line of 12… A number the Patriots pushed with, finishing with a
(12-4) record.
Considering the injury situation with TE Rob Gronkowski, and
losses of WR Wes Welker and TE Aaron Hernandez, it might be tempting
to project the Patriots to fall under the Vegas over/under line of 11 wins.
However, with Tom Brady at the helm, and behind a top tier
offensive line, a long list of non-star receivers have helped make the Patriots’
offense tick in the Brady era.
If the offense needs a little slack to be picked up by the defense,
New England is likely to improve upon their 25th ranked unit with the addition
of DT Tommy Kelly, drafting of LB Jamie Collins, and potential for a
full season from CB Aqib Talib.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2013 the Patriots will play just 5 games versus playoff teams from a year ago…
This represents an increase of 1 such game compared to the extrememly
low number of such contests last season;
4 of the above matchups are road games.
Any games the Patriots lose are likely to come from these matchups.
Schedule Nugget:
With the exception of Pittsburgh in week 9,
all 10 remaining games on the Patriots’ schedule are versus teams that finished below .500 last season;
- @Buffalo (6-10) in week 1
- NY Jets (6-10) in week 2
- Tampa Bay (7-9) in week 3
- New Orleans (7-9) in week 6
- @NY Jets (6-10) in week 7
- Miami (7-9) in week 8
- @Carolina (7-9) in week 11
- Cleveland (5-11) in week 14
- @Miami (7-9) in week 15
- Buffalo (6-10) in week 17
Granted some of these squads are on the rise including,
Miami, Tampa Bay, and Carolina.
Record Projection:
In 2013 we project the Patriots to go (12-4). There are simply too many winnable games
on paper to project New England to go under the Vegas win total line…
Even with a depleted receiving core.
