New England Patriots 2012 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2012 New England Patriots Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2012 NFL regular season
win total betting line
for the New England Patriots set at a league high 12 wins.
This represents an increase of .5 win from the ‘Pats
prior year win total line of 11.5… A number the Patriots topped with a
(13-3) record.
The strength in this line has to do with a number of factors including;
- The addition of deep threat WR Brandon Lloyd
- Focusing the draft on bringing a pass rush back to New England
- The easiest schedule in the league
Schedule Analysis:
In 2012 the Patriots will play only 4 games versus playoff teams from a year ago…
Just like last season, this represents a drop of 2 such games compared to the prior year campaign.
With Ravens’ LB Terrell Suggs out for the year, the trip to Baltimore becomes easier.
Denver could prove a tough out with Peyton Manning at the helm.
Meanwhile, Houston visits in week 14, so cold weather edge to New England. And who knows if often
injured QB Matt Schaub
will even be on the field by week 14. Ditto the cold weather edge when the 49ers visit in week 15.
In the AFC East Miami is rebuilding. And the Jets offense appears non-existent.
However, Buffalo proved problematic last season, and have added DE Mario Williams.
Could the Bills be New England’s biggest stumbling block to an undefeated season?
A few potentially tough road games include a trip to Seattle in week 6, and the opener
in Tennessee, moreso if the weather is hot & humid.
The rest are easy contests on paper including; Arizona at home in week 2, @St. Louis in week 8,
Indianapolis at home in week 11, @Jacksonville in week 16.
Record Projection:
On September 18, 2007 after week 2, we put forth the idea of
New England going undefeated.
In 2012 we’re doing it again. The schedule is easy, and there are several advantages
to New England in some of their tougher contests.
Even if the Patriots find a way to drop their week 1 contest, we’d probably still project them
out at (15-1).
