New England Patriots 2011 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2011 New England Patriots Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
Oddsmakers currently have the regular season
win total betting line for the New England Patriots set at 11.5 wins…
This number is a reduction
of 2.5 wins from the Patriots’ prior year regular season mark of (14-2).
Part of this line has to do with the fact that there’s only
so high Vegas can make a season win total, before it will draw
completely unbalanced action to the under. One key injury
and suddenly the Patriots go from the team with the best QB
to a team hoping that either Bryan Hoyer or Ryan Mallet
can keep the offense alive.
Of course the Pats own a couple of past successes
in overcoming QB injuries with Brady
taking over for Bledsoe, and Cassel taking over
In 2011 the Patriots will play just 6 games versus playoff teams from a year ago.
This represents a drop of 2 such games compared to the prior year campaign.
It’s a tough stretch between weeks 10 – 13 when the Patriots face four teams in a row
that reached the postseason a year ago.
Other potentially competitive games include;
@Miami in week 1, San Diego in week 2, Dallas in week 6,
New York Giants in week 9, @Washington in week 14.
Meanwhile, lighter competition include the customary two tilts with Buffalo (weeks 3 & 17),
@Oakland in week 4, @Denver in week 15, and home to Miami in week 16.
Further on the plus side, New England draws both Miami and Indianapolis at home in cold December. And their early September
trip to hot Miami is a night game.
In 2011 we project the Patriots to go (13-3), topping the Las
Vegas season win total of 11.5 games. With a squad as talented
as the Pats, there is always potential for upside to an already high 13 win number.
Naturally there is the chance injuries could wreak havoc in the other direction.
