Kansas City Chiefs 2013 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2013 Kansas City Chiefs Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2013 NFL regular season
win total line
for the Kansas City Chiefs set at 8 wins.
This represents an increase of 6 wins compared to Kansas City’s
prior year record of (2-14), which is the highest differential in 2013…
But it’s also the same as last year’s Las Vegas win total line
which of course the Chiefs went under by a large amount.
It’s no secret the Chiefs are expected to perform much better
in 2013 thanks to a major upgrade at quarterback
with the signing of Alex Smith.
Additionally, the signing of coach Andy Reid has surely helped the over/under line.
Other plusses include 1st round draft pick OT Eric Fisher adding to a solid
offensive line.
Furthermore, the Chiefs are strong a RB with Jamaal Charles, and also
strong at linebacker and in the secondary with the additions of CB Dunta Robinson and
CB Sean Smith.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs biggest weakness is their defensive line.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2013 the Chiefs find themselves tied for the 5th easiest schedule in the league on paper
with the combined winning percentage of their opponents in the prior year
checking in at the .473 mark.
The Chiefs will play 9 games versus teams that had 7 or fewer wins last season including;
The Chiefs will play just 5 games versus teams that made the playoffs last season– two
fewer than in the prior campaign.
- Houston in week 7
- @Denver in week 11
- Denver in week 13
- @washington in week 14
- Indianapolis in week 16
Other competitive matchups include two home games;
Dallas in week 2, and NY Giants in week 4.
Record Projection:
In 2013 we now project the Chiefs to go (9-7), topping the Las
Vegas season win total line of 8 wins. This is an upgrade from our opening projection
here before the season kicks off.
Bottom Line: The Chiefs were held back by poor quarterback play on many occassions in recent memory,
when they were in close games that could have been won… We expect that to change
for the better this season. And with their slate choc full of winnable games
on paper, there could be further
upside to this projection with the Chiefs contending for a playoff spot.
