RB Jamaal Charles, RB depth (Thomas Jones), punt coverage,
LG Brian Waters, OLB Tamba Hali, CB Brandon Flowers.
Weaknesses:
Rushing defense, passing offense, NT, ILB, CB depth, kickoff returns & punt returns,
kickoff coverage,
pass rush, offensive line, offensive line depth, wide receiver core.
Opportunities:
1st round selection S Eric Berry from Tennessee could vastly improve
the secondary.
Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis & defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel won
in New England. 2nd round draft pick WR Dexter McCluster from Mississippi
adds speed and elusiveness to the passing game.
LT Branden Albert increased level of commitment,
acquisition of aged C Casey Weigmann could somewhat help the O-line,
2nd round pick CB Javier Arenas could improve the return game.
Threats:
RB Jamaal Charles’ shoulder. WR Dwayne Bowe’s hands, trading
FS Jarrad Page to New England, improved Oakland Raiders’ squad.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2010 the Chiefs will play just 4 games versus playoff teams
from a season ago;

Overall the Chiefs’ schedule is certainly on the lighter side. However the Chiefs simply
may not have a strong enough offensive line, defensive line, or linebacking group to
take advantage of the situation.
Record Projection:
In 2010 we project a rather dismal (2-14) record, a slight upgrade before
the season kicks off, but an overall downgrade from our
opening projection this preseason.
