Indianapolis Colts 2011 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2011 Indianapolis Colts Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
Oddsmakers initially had the regular season
win total betting line for the Indianapolis Colts set at 9.5 wins,
before the betting future was taken off the board at many sportsbooks
due to uncertainty surrounding Peyton Manning’s neck injury.
9.5 is a lower number than we’re accustomed to seeing with the Colts.
And we think oddsmakers have detected a slow decline from grace beginning
for this squad… Not to mention the 9.5 win total number represents a decrease
of 1/2 win from the Colts’
prior year regular season mark of (10-6).
As of this writing, Manning is now doubtful for week 1
@Houston…
It will be interesting to see how the Colts play this.
Will Manning play in week 2
home to Cleveland in a game they should by all rights be
able to win with Kerry Collins at the helm?
Then will Peyton step on to the field versus the Steelers cold turkey
in week 3?
Oddly enough, Manning’s injury isn’t affecting our season win total
prediction for the Colts in 2011… That’s because even with Manning at the helm
we had Indy penciled in for three losses in the first 4 weeks, including
a week 1 loss @Houston, a
week 3 loss versus Pittsburgh, and a week 4 loss @Tampa Bay.
Let’s check out the rest of the Colts’ schedule in ’11.
In 2011 the Colts will play 6 games versus teams that made the playoffs a year ago.
This is an increase of 1 such matchup compared to the previous season;
Other potentially competitive matchups for the Colts in ’11 include;
@Houston in week 1, @Tampa Bay in week 4 (on the playoff bubble with 10 wins
last season), @Tennessee in week 8, Houston in week 16,
and @Jacksonville in week 17.
Meanwhile, lighter competition includes;
Cleveland in week 2, @Cincinnati in week 6, Jacksonville in week 10,
Carolina in week 12, and Tennessee in week 15.
Record Projection:
In 2011 we project the Colts to go (9-7), falling shy of the
Vegas season win total line of 9.5 games.
Manning has a long history of pulling out victories in the closing moments.
But nothing lasts forever.
