Houston Texans 2013 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2013 Houston Texans Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2013 NFL regular season
win total betting line
for the Houston Texans set at 10.5 wins.
This number represents an increase of 1/2 win from Houston’s
prior year season win total line of 10, which the Texans went over
with a record of (12-4).
In 2013 the Houston Texans will look to improve upon their great performance last season.
They certainly have the pieces in place.
And the increase in season win total line year over year reflects that.
With CB Johnathan Joseph healthy, and
LB Brian Cushing back after missing 11 games last season,
the Texans’ defense lead by DE J.J. Watt could be even better.
The addition of S Ed Reed, who underwent arthroscopic surgery
could help the Texans toward their ultimate goal.
First round draft pick WR DeAndre Hopkins missed much of preseason with a concussion.
He is a wild card in terms of making Houston’s offense all the better. Although rookie
WR’s don’t always find it easy to make an impact.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2013 the Texans will face the identical strength of schedule on paper as in the previous
season with the combined winning percentage of their opponents checking in at
.473, a very low number.
However, this number is skewed because of two games with Jacksonville (2-14),
@Kansas (2-14) in week 7, @Arizona (5-11) in week 10, and
Oakland (4-12) in week 11… The records of the above teams were so poor last season,
it drags the overall SOS number down.
Schedule tougher than meets the eye:
The Texans will play 7 games versus teams that made the playoffs a year ago
which is an increase of 2 such matchups compared to the previous season;
Record Projection:
In 2013 we project the Texans to go (12-4), topping the
Vegas season win total line of 10.5 wins.
While Houston has several tough opponents on their schedule,
their defense could be even better than last season, given its current
health.
Of course injuries could always result in downside to this projection.
