Buffalo Bills 2012 Season Win Total Outlook & Projection:
2012 Buffalo Bills Las Vegas Season Win Total Line;
As of this writing, oddsmakers have the 2012 NFL regular season
win total betting line
for the Buffalo Bills set at 8 wins.
This represents an increase of 2.5 wins from Buffalo’s
prior year win total line of 5.5, which they topped by .5 win
going (6-10).
Much of this increase has to do with the signing of DE Mario Williams.
Mark Anderson figures to improve the pass rush as well.
Additional defensive improvement comes in the form of 1st round pick CB Stephon Gilmore
scoring solid reviews in preseason.
Now if Terrence McGee can stay healthy for the full season, the Bills
pass defense could take a leap.
The Bills’ season win total line is also boosted by having one of the easier schedules in the league.
Schedule Analysis:
In 2012 the Bills will play just 4 games versus playoff teams from a season ago.
Just like last season that’s a reduction of two such games compared to the prior campaign;
Three of these contests are on the road. But the sheer low number is quite unusual to draw in a season.
Other potentially competitive matchups include;
@NY Jets in week 1 (offense currently a disaster),
home to Kansas City in week 2 (the winner of this game will gain a nice advantage in the wild card hunt),
@Arizona in week 6 (solid defense 2nd half of last season, but offensive questions),
home to Tennessee in week 7 (switching to Jake Locker at QB), home to Seattle in week 15.
As you can see, this is far from a tough slate of games.
Easier competition comes in the form of @Cleveland in week 3, home to Miami in week 11,
@Indianapolis in week 12, home to Jacksonville in week 13, home to St. Louis in week 14,
and @Miami in week 16 (no trip to Miami in the heat)… The combined record of these opponenets
last season was abysmal.
Record Projection:
In 2012 we project the Bills to go (10-6), topping the Las
Vegas season win total line of 8 wins.
Buffalo’s defense looks vastly improved. As long as the offensive line can hold up,
and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t have to play hurt, and WR Stevie Johnson can hang onto the ball
a bit better, then the Bills could prove formidable for many an opponent.
