2006 NFL Projection:
The Arizona Cardinals face a very tough schedule in 2006 with nine games versus teams that finished at .500 or better in 2005. That doesn’t even include the two games versus St. Louis who played a good chunk of 2005 without their starting quarterback Marc Bulger. On the plus side, the Cardinals had several bright spots in the passing game last season, and now add Edgerrin James to the running game. But the offensive line will need to open more holes while the defense will need to bounce back from an injury riddled season in order for 2006 to become a success when considering the extremely difficult schedule.

Arizona Cardinals 2006 NFL Predictions

Week 1
Sep 10
San Francisco Win projected – Another sweep of the 49ers is essential in order to make 2006 a success.
Week 2
Sep 17
@Seattle Loss projected – Pulling out an upset at Qwest Field would be an eye opening first road game. Easier said than done.
Week 3
Sep 24
St. Louis Win projected -Winnable home game versus a team that usually plays much better at home than on the road.
Week 4
Oct 1
@Atlanta Loss projected – A long trip to face the Falcons who will be giving their maximum effort before their bye week.
Week 5
Oct 8
Kansas City Win projected – A very tough opponent with a solid running game visits Arizona. But the Cardinals could catch the Chiefs looking ahead to the champs and pull out the upset.
Week 6
Oct 16
Chicago Loss projected – The Cards could surprise in this Monday night football matchup if the Bears offense is unable to match scores. The higher scoring the game, the more it should favor Arizona’s odds for pulling out a win.
Week 7
Oct 22
@Oakland Win projected – A chance for a road victory while working on a short week as the Raiders could get caught looking ahead to the champs.
Week 8
Oct 29
@Green Bay Loss projected – The Packers went on the decline in 2005. But winning two in a row on the road is something the Cardinals have not done in a long time.
Week 9
Nov 5
BYE 4-4 at the bye if these preseason predictions for the 2006 Arizona Cardinals hold up.
Week 10
Nov 12
Dallas Loss projected – Couldn’t hang last season with the Cowboys. Can’t afford to be rusty after the bye week.
Week 11
Nov 19
Detroit Win projected – A winnable home game versus a team that finished 2005 with the same record as the Cardinals.
Week 12
Nov 26
@Minnesota Loss projected – Do they have Minnesota’s number? Coach might. But will the rest of the team?
Week 13
Dec 3
@St. Louis Loss projected – The Rams could be looking for some early season revenge.
Week 14
Dec 10
Seattle Loss projected – Likely fighting to avoid being swept.
Week 15
Dec 17
Denver Loss projected – Second tough home game in a row.
Week 16
Dec 24
@San Francisco Win projected – Could be going for another sweep of the 49ers in this week 15 game at Monster Park.
Week 17
Dec 31
@San Diego Loss projected – Will there be something to play for? Perhaps a .500 record? If the Cardinals improve on defense, they could do much better in the record department in 2006.
