1/1
Patriots
8-0
The Patriots dealt the Redskins a haunting blow 52-7, setting up the battle of
undefeated teams in Indianapolis next week.
2/2
Colts
7-0
After the Panthers scored on their opening drive, gobbling up 11 minutes of the first quarter in the process,
it looked like the Colts might be in a bit of trouble… What happened next? Without Harrison, Indianapolis put up
31 unanswered points to improve to (7-0).
3/3
Cowboys
6-1
The Cowboys had a bye and will travel to Philadelphia in week 9 for The Return of T.O. Part II.
4/4
Packers
6-1
Green Bay improved to (6-1) and stayed one game ahead of the Lions thanks to a thrilling overtime win in Denver capped off by Favre’s 82 yard TD bomb to Jennings.
5/5
Titans
5-2
Vince Young threw for just 42 yards against the Raiders at home, a frightening stat.
However, the Titans rushed for 192 yards and played solid defense, and got the win to improve to (5-2).
With the win Tennessee remained tied with Jacksonville for second place in the AFC South, but with a game in hand.
6/6
Giants
6-2
Manning was limited to just 59 yards passing by the Dolphins in a London downpour, a ghoulish stat to be certain. But the Giants
survived, remaining hot on the trail of the Cowboys in the NFC East.
7/8
Jaguars
5-2
The Jaguars were dramatically outyarded in Tampa Bay, but still managed to sink the Pirate ship thanks to
intercepting Garcia 3 times… Meanwhile the Jags stayed tied with the Titans for second place in the competitive AFC South.
8/9
Steelers
5-2
If anyone is running a haunted house in Cincinnati it’s the Steelers who grabbed their 7th
straight victory in Cincy… The win puts the Steelers one game ahead of the Ravens in the AFC North heading into their
Monday night matchup with Baltimore.
9/10
Chargers
4-3
The Chargers got back over .500 and into a tie for first place in the AFC West with the
Chiefs thanks in part to scoring 35 first half points against the Texans.
10/7
Redskins
4-3
The Redskins allowed the Patriots to gain more than twice as many yards as they could muster, and it resulted
in a 45 point loss at the Razor… Washington has been a solid team for the majority of the season, but clearly the distance
between the upper echelon teams and other playoff contenders is quite vast.
11/19
Eagles
3-4
Philadelphia fans have to be wondering if it’s trick or treat.
The Eagles kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a win at Minnesota. However, unless the Eagles can beat the Cowboys in The Return of T.O. Part II,
those playoff hopes may quickly be vanquished.
12/20
Lions
5-2
Detroit improved to (5-2) overall thanks to a sweeping of the Bears, facilitated by Griese’s 4 interceptions, not to mention 7 interceptions
thrown by Griese overall in this season’s series with Detroit… It has been phantom-like pass coverage
this season by the Lions when playing the Bears. But certainly the Eagles or Redskins would claim otherwise.
13/14
Cardinals
3-4
Arizona had a bye and will head to Tampa Bay in week 9…
The Cardinals have shown improvement this season, winning games over the Steelers and Seahawks, but the last second loss to San Francisco during week 1 looms
large in the NFC West.
14/18
Seahawks
4-3
Seattle had a bye and will head to Cleveland in week 9 to face the red hot offense of the Browns.
Seattle clings to a one game lead over the Cardinals in the NFC West. However, the Cards have a game in hand in the head to head department.
15/12
Buccaneers
4-4
Tampa Bay dramatically outyarded Jacksonville, but it was the Jaguars that did the pirating,
picking off Garcia 3 times… It was the second game in a row the Bucs lost while gaining more yards than
their opposition. Looking at the last two weeks the Buccaneers could be (6-2); instead they are (4-4).
16/17
Chiefs
4-3
Kansas City had a bye and will host the Packers in week 9. Meanwhile, San Diego moved into a tie for first
with the Chiefs thanks to their week 8 victory over the Texans.
17/21
Browns
4-3
Cleveland came back from down 14 points at St. Louis thanks to the combo of Anderson to Edwards, not to mention
gruesomely timed injuries to Steven Jackson and Marc Bulger. The Browns are above .500, and technically are in the playoff hunt.
However, a porous defense could be their undoing.
18/11
Broncos
3-4
The Broncos lost a heartbreaker in overtime Monday night to the Packers. All four of Denver’s losses
have been to teams ranked currently ranked in the top 10 including;
Indianapolis, Jacksonville, San Diego, and now Green Bay.
19/16
Ravens
4-3
Baltimore had a bye and will travel to Pittsburgh in week 9. The Ravens’ playoff hopes could be on the line.
20/13
Panthers
4-3
Carolina was up 7-0 on the Colts but couldn’t contain Wayne even though Indianapolis was playing without Harrison. Overall the Panthers
surrendered a ghastly 31 unanswered points to the Colts… However, thanks to Tampa Bay’s loss, the Panthers remained in first
place in the NFC South… Overall the Panthers are (0-3) at home and (4-0) on the road.
21/22

Bills
3-4
The Bills won their second game in a row and are looking like a team that’s ready to take on all comers…
A week 9 win and Buffalo would be back to .500… If Buffalo hadn’t folded against Dallas,
they might be in playoff hunt right now.
22/15

Bears
3-5
The only Monster Mash in Chicago was the Monsters of the Midway getting mashed by Detroit… It was the Bears’ 3rd straight home loss.
Griese threw 3 interceptions in the end zone, and 4 interceptions overall.
In two losses this season to the Lions, Griese has thrown 7 interceptions. The Bears look all but done in the NFC North
and it’s not even week 10.
23/26
Saints
3-4
The Saints won their third game in a row with a blowout of the 49ers. But to get back to .500 this coming week, the Saints
will have to beat the Jaguars which is a much taller order.
24/23
Texans
3-5
Shaub and Rosenfels each threw 2 interceptions as Houston was blown out by 25 points in San Diego.
The Texans sit at two games below .500 having lost 5 of their last 6 games, with the only win being a squeaker over the Dolphins.
25/24
Vikings
2-5
A win against the Eagles would have brought the Vikings to one game below .500. Instead the loss puts the Vikings at a devastating
three games below .500, likely too far behind the Packers and Lions to catch up.
26/27
Raiders
2-5
Oakland held Vince Young to 42 yards passing and the Titans to just 13 points, but couldn’t get the win in Tennessee. If Oakland could have mustered some more offense
the past couple of weeks they would be in the hunt in the AFC West.
27/25
Bengals
2-5
A win against the Steelers would have brought the Bengals to one game below .500. Instead the loss puts the Bengals
three games below .500, almost certainly too far behind the Steelers, Ravens, and Browns to catch up in the AFC North.
28/28
Jets
1-7
The Jets fell to (1-7) thanks to getting swept by the Bills. The Jets have certainly hit the skids since spygate.
29/29
Falcons
1-6
The Falcons had a bye and will go for their second win of the season next week at home versus San Francisco…
Then again, this game could have serious draft pick consequences for the winner.
30/30
49ers
2-5
San Francisco dropped to three games below .500 after losing at home to the Saints, proving that it usually takes more than preseason hype to make the playoffs.
31/31
Rams
0-8
After jumping out to a 14-0 lead on the Browns, the Rams’ nightmarish season took another bad turn as Jackson and Bulger once again sustained injuries, and the Rams once again lost.
32/32
Dolphins
0-8
For the second time in 2007 the Dolphins gave up single digit completions, yet still lost the game.
Is it any wonder Miami hasn’t won a game this season? Happy Halloween.
