1/1
Saints
6-0
After clobbering the Giants the previous week, the Saints were
ripe for the picking in Miami,
but remained undefeated thanks to rallying with
36 second half points.
2/3
Colts
6-0
Indianapolis cruised at St. Louis. Moderately stiffer competition awaits on deck
versus San Francisco, then Houston– before the Colts square off against
New England, then Baltimore.
3/5
Broncos
6-0
Denver had a bye in week 7 and will get back to action in week 8 at Baltimore.
This could be loss number one. Then again, the Broncos
have surprised all season long. Perhaps Josh McDaniel’s
has the undefeated gene working.
4/6
Steelers
5-2
The Steelers grabbed a relegitimizing victory at home over the previously
undefeated Vikings. How often have we seen Pittsburgh win games such as this
with late defensive scores? This game probably
goes to Minnesota on a neutral field or in Minny.
5/11
Bengals
5-2
A lot of people expected the Bengals to drop this game versus Chicago.
Instead Cincinnati rolled the Bears. These Bengals just might
have it in them to make the playoffs.
6/2
Vikings
6-1
The Vikings dropped their first game of the year– a hard fought
battle in Pittsburgh which was certainly
closer than the final score… Favre returns to Green Bay next week
as the Vikings try to keep the Packers from turning the NFC North
into a race.
7/7
Patriots
5-2
It was no contest in London as the Patriots crushed the Buccaneers.
With a bye on deck followed by a home game versus
the dejected Dolphins, all eyes will be on their week 10 trip to Indianapolis
and week 12 trip to New Orleans.
8/4
Giants
5-2
The Giants
lost their second game in a row as
Eli Manning threw 3 interceptions at home against the Cardinals.
The Giants face a tough schedule the rest
of the way. But we’re not panicking on their behalf just yet.
9/9
Ravens
3-3
Baltimore had a bye in week 7. And I don’t need to tell you they are
dangerously close to must win territory. Up next, the undefeated Broncos.
10/10
Cowboys
4-2
Dallas scored what may prove to be a key win in terms of playoff
possibilities as Romo and Austin lit up the Falcons’ defense…
Remember when I said to draft Miles Austin for your fantasy team this
season?
11/19
Cardinals
4-2
The Cardinals scored a monumental road victory on the East coast against the Giants.
Arizona has bounced back nicely since their opening week loss versus
the 49ers, and are suddenly looking like they might be better than last year’s squad.
A record of (11-5) seems within reach as of this writing.
12/8
Falcons
4-2
The Falcons were torched in Dallas by Romo and Austin. This loss could
have negative playoff repercussions.
13/15
Jets
4-3
The Jets’ three game skid came to end in Oakland with
the Raiders still beaming from their upset of the Eagles.
Shonn Greene got into the act.
Up next Miami… It will be interesting to see if the
Dolphins feel much like playing after their season might have
come to an end in last week’s 3 TD blown lead versus the Saints.
14/17
Packers
4-2
Green Bay took care of business in Cleveland. The Packers have a chance
to get back in the hunt for the NFC North
if they can defeat Favre’s Vikings at home.
15/12

Bears
3-3
After a hot (3-1) start which included a win over the champs, the
Bears are suddenly back to .500. Fortunately they face Cleveland
in week 8. If they lose this game, any shot at the postseason
might have to include the words “pipe” and “dream”.
16/13
Chargers
3-3
The Chargers got back to .500 with a road thumping of the Chiefs. But
they’re far behind Denver for it only being the end of week 7.
17/16
Eagles
4-2
The Eagles did what they had to do, getting back into the win column
Monday night at Washington… If they had only done what they needed to
do in week 6 at Oakland they would be (5-1).
18/20
Texans
4-3
The Texans got above .500 with a victory over the 49ers. They’ll try to make
it 3 wins in a row when they head to Buffalo to face a Bills team
also looking for their 3rd straight victory.
19/14
Dolphins
2-4
Miami blew a 21 point lead against New Orleans, in part due to a
poorly timed time out just before half time, and unecessarily
overly aggressive play calling
early in the third quarter resulting in a Sharper interception return for
a touchdown. By our count this is the 3rd game the Dolphins lost this
season which they should have won. Their chances of a return trip to the
postseason have been dealt a huge blow.
20/22

Bills
3-4
The Bills won their second road game in a row, taking down the Panthers
in Carolina. Sometimes the best medicine is to get away from home.
Next week the Bills host the Texans in a battle of teams looking for their
3rd straight win… If the Bills could have just beat Cleveland they would
be (4-3). If they could have eeked out either one of the close games
against the Patriots or Saints…. If…
21/18
49ers
3-3
Hill out, Smith in. A nice rally in Houston that fell short.
A trip to Indy on deck means the Niners are projected to fall below .500.
22/23
Seahawks
2-4
Seattle had a bye and will head to Dallas to face the surging
Cowboys in week eight as a 9 1/2 point underdog.
23/24
Jaguars
3-3
Jacksonville had a bye and will head to Tennessee in week 8 looking for
a sweep of the Titans and a trip back above .500.
24/21
Panthers
2-4
The Panthers fell two games below .500 after a Delhomme tossed 3 INT’s versus
Buffalo… Jake will try to exact some demons next week in Arizona when he faces
the very team his woes began against way back in last season’s playoffs.
25/25
Raiders
2-5
Oakland reverted back to form with a (38-0) home loss to the Jets
in which they surrendered 316 yards rushing. Russell was finally pulled.
26/27
Lions
1-5
Detroit had a bye and will get back to action in week 8
at home versus the Rams in a battle of perennial power ranking
cellar dwellers.
27/28
Titans
0-6
Tennessee had a bye and will try to get win number one in week 8
at home against the Jags. It’s Vince Young time.
28/26
Chiefs
1-6
Cassel was intercepted 3 times. And
the Chiefs had no answer for Rivers and Jackson, resulting in a 30 point
home loss.
29/29
Redskins
2-5
Turnovers proved costly as Washington was unable to “pull an Oakland”
and upset the Eagles.
30/30
Browns
1-6
Derek Anderson threw for 99 yards versus the Packers
in a 28 point home loss. If only he could have thrown for 1 more yard.
31/31
Rams
0-7
Steven Jackson rushed for 134 yards at home against the Colts, but it
did little good as St. Louis was thumped. Why does it seem like
the Rams are always (0-7)?
32/32
Buccaneers
0-7
Tampa Bay was no match for New England “at home” in London.
Josh Freeman saw his first action. And all signs are pointing to a
winless season.
