Patriots
6-0
The Patriots improved to (6-0) with a 21 point victory in Dallas as Brady threw 5 more TD’s,
and is on a pace to break Manning’s record…
As far as the rankings go, even though the Colts are the defending champs, and are still undefeated this season,
and beat New England twice last season, including a win in the AFC
Championship game,
New England’s season has been so mighty, they’ve now passed the Colts in the rankings.
2/1
Colts
5-0
The Colts held the #1 ranking
through the first quarter of the season in the face of a much improved Patriots’ squad…
And it’s through no failure that Indianapolis has surrendered the top spot in the rankings.
It’s simply that the Patriots
are grading as one of the greatest teams of all time.

3/3
Cowboys
5-1
In the big game of the week, the Cowboys fell by
3 touchdowns at home to New England
thanks to being outscored in the second half 27-10… The loss drops Dallas into a tie with Green Bay for the best
record in the NFC… However,
Green Bay has a loss within the conference, while the Cowboys are still perfect in the conference.
4/6
Packers
5-1
Two weeks ago Green Bay lost a game they should have won versus Chicago. This week
the Packers made up for the loss by winning a game which the statistics show they probably should have lost versus Washington.
With Green Bay sitting at (5-1) the Packers could probably make the playoffs by playing .500 ball the rest of the way.
5/4
Titans
3-2
The Titans held the Buccaneers to just 30 yards rushing in Tampa Bay
but were unable to get the win… Vince Young left the game with an injury in the 3rd quarter.
Everyone knows about Vince’s 4th quarter success rate.
Perhaps Tennessee could have pulled out the victory if not for Young’s injury…
6/5
Jaguars
4-1
Last year the Jaguars had their season spoiled thanks to getting swept by the Texans.
This year the Jags weren’t about to let it happen again… As far as power rankings go, Tennessee edges out Jacksonville
for the fifth spot due to their season opening win in Jacksonville.
7/7
Ravens
4-2
Baltimore grabbed 6 turnovers from St. Louis paving the way for a 19 point blowout…
However, blowing out the Rams isn’t quite enough to push further into the top 10 of the rankings at this time.
8/9
Steelers
4-1
The Steelers had a bye and will face a desperate Broncos team in Denver week 7.
Pittsburgh climbs a spot in the rankings thanks to Arizona losing to Carolina.
9/10
Giants
4-2
The Giants weren’t fazed by either of Atlanta’s two first quarter leads. And went on to dominate the Falcons
the rest of the game… The Giants who started (0-2) have won four in a row and hold sole possession of second place
in the competitive NFC East.
10/15
Buccaneers
4-2
The Buccaneers grabbed a win over Tennessee thanks to keeping the Titans’ running game in check, which was made easier due to an injury to Vince Young…
Tampa remains tied for first with Carolina in the NFC South, but with an edge in head to head play.
11/12
Chargers
3-3
San Diego topped the Raiders by 14 points to get back to the .500 mark, and into a tie for first place with K.C…
But before the Chargers grace the top 10, let’s at least see them back above .500.
12/11
Redskins
3-2
Most who watched the game would probably agree Washington should have won at Green Bay in week 6, as
the Redskins limited the Packers’ offense to just 225 yards.
But turnovers were costly and instead of improving to a record of (4-1), Washington fell to
(3-2)…
The power rankings say, “the Redskins are quite good.” But the standings
show a team that’s 1 game above .500… And while it’s still early in the season, this loss
could have serious playoff implications of the negative variety.
13/16
Panthers
4-2
Vinny Testaverde stepped in and lead Carolina to a win in Arizona. The Panthers improved their road record to (4-0)…
Not bad for a team that has lined up four different quarterbacks through week 6.
14/8
Cardinals
3-3
Kurt Warner was lost in the first quarter of play
and Tim Rattay threw 3 interceptions in relief in a home loss to Carolina…
The Cardinals will get Boldin back next week, however Warner is expected to be out.
15/17
Eagles
2-3
The Eagles grabbed a road win versus the Jets and will look to get back to .500 next week versus
an erratic Chicago team.
16/18
Browns
3-3
The Browns put up 41 points in a win over the Dolphins. However, the power rankings
say beware of the 31 points surrendered to the team ranked 32nd coming into the week.
17/13
Seahawks
3-3
Seattle trailed New Orleans by 18 at the half… So even though Seattle shut out the Saints in the
second half, it was too little too late, as the Seahawks fell back to .500 having lost two games
in a row.
18/22
Chiefs
3-3
The Chiefs used a balanced offensive attack to take down the Bengals at home and get back to .500.
19/19
Broncos
2-3
Denver had a bye and will attempt to get back to .500 this week in a home game against Pittsburgh.
20/27
Vikings
2-3
Adrian Peterson ran wild as the Vikings amassed 311 rushing yards in Chicago en route
to a last second victory sealed by Ryan Longwell… On the other side of the coin, Minnesota
allowed 458 yards of offense to the Bears. But a road win is a road win.
21/14

Bears
2-4
The Bears followed up their win at Green Bay by allowing 311 yards rushing at home to the Vikings.
Enough said.
22/21
Texans
3-3
A costly fumble kept the Texans out of the end zone early in Jacksonville.
From the second quarter on Houston was blown out. The loss drops the Texans back to .500.
23/23
Lions
3-2
Detroit had a bye and will face the hot Buccaneers at home in week 7.
24/24

Bills
1-4
The Bills had a bye and will try to bounce back from their devastating loss to the Cowboys
when the Ravens pay a visit in week 7.
25/20
Bengals
1-4
Cincinnati fell to three games below .500, thanks to getting handled in Kansas City.
26/25
Jets
1-5
The Jets only managed 128 yards passing at home against the Eagles who were playing without
Brian Dawkins and Lito Sheppard. One might have expected a better performance.
27/29
Saints
1-4
New Orleans finally broke into the win column at the expense of the Seahawks.
But the soonest they could potentially get back to .500 would be by week 10.
28/26
Raiders
2-3
Oakland was unable to deal the Chargers what could have been a knockout punch…
With the loss, the Raiders fell 1 game below .500 and out of first place.
29/28
Falcons
1-5
The Falcons were no match for the Giants, and are now four games below .500.
30/30
49ers
2-3
San Francisco had a bye and will return to action at Giants Stadium in week 7.
31/32
Dolphins
0-6
Miami ran into one of the hottest offenses in the league in Cleveland, and couldn’t keep up with
their scoring. The only team that’s given up more points than the Dolphins this season is the team they
just lost to.
32/31
Rams
0-6
Gus Frerotte threw 5 interceptions in Baltimore as the Rams were pasted by 19 points.
It was the fourth time this season St. Louis lost by at least two scores.
