1/1
Colts
5-0
The Colts stayed perfect in their title defense season, crushing Tampa Bay by 19 points, all without Harrison, Addai or Sanders.
2/2
Patriots
5-0
The Patriots improved to (5-0) with a 17 point victory over Cleveland. For the fifth game in a row, Brady
threw at least 3 TD’s.
A trip to Dallas is on deck.
3/3
Cowboys
5-0
In what was perhaps the greatest Monday night football game in NFL history,
the Cowboys overcame five Romo interceptions (two going for Buffalo touchdowns),
one lost fumble, a kickoff return for a touchdown, a thwarted 2 point conversion, a perfectly timed time out before the game winning kick (the first game
winning kick that is)
to beat Buffalo 25-24…
Bottom line for the rest of the league; if the
Cowboys can win with Romo throwing five interceptions and fumbling once, who is going to beat the Cowboys?
Up next is New England.
4/6
Titans
3-1
Overcoming turnovers was the theme of the week in the NFL.
Tennessee turned the ball over 5 times, but still pulled out a 7 point victory over Atlanta.
The Titans defense turned in another strong performance holding the Falcons’ offense to under 200 yards…
And thanks to losses by Green Bay and Seattle, the Titans move up 2 spots in the power rankings.
5/7
Jaguars
3-1
The Jaguars grabbed their second road victory in the AFC West this season, with a 10 point win at Kansas City…
Jacksonville’s defense held Larry Johnson to 12 yards rushing… Although these days it seems more than commonplace to
neutralize Kansas City’s running game.
6/4
Packers
4-1
In the first half it appeared Green Bay would deal Chicago a knockout
blow. But unlike the Cowboys and Titans, the Packers were unable to overcome loads of turnovers (5 in all), and let the game slip away.
The saving grace for Packers fans; Green Bay is three games above .500 while Chicago is one game below .500.
7/8
Ravens
3-2
Like most teams this season, Baltimore held San Francisco to under 200 yards of offense,
so didn’t need much offense of their own to get the win.
8/9
Cardinals
3-2
The Cardinals hung on in St. Louis to grab their first road victory of the season.
Leinart left the game with a broken collar bone.
9/10
Steelers
4-1
The Steelers bounced back strong from their loss in Arizona with an incredible shut out of the Seahawks…
But last week’s loss to the Cards stings the Steelers in the power rankings, especially since Baltimore has a win over
Arizona.
10/11
Giants
3-2
The Giants overcame a 10 point deficit to beat the Jets and improve to one game above the .500 mark.
The Giants crack the top 10, thanks to the Seahawks getting blanked by Pittsburgh.
11/14
Redskins
3-1
The Redskins waved bye to their disappointing loss to the Giants, and completely
destroyed the hot starting Lions to get back to two games above the .500 mark.
12/16
Chargers
2-3
San Diego set out to save their season and to prove last week’s loss to K.C. was a fluke.
They might have accomplished both with their 38 point win at Denver. A win next week versus Oakland
will get the Chargers back to .500.
13/5
Seahawks
3-2
In a rematch of Super Bowl XL, Seattle was shut out in Pittsburgh.
The Seahawks’ offense was held to just 144 yards. If this loss leaves the Seahawks
overly dejected, they could be at risk to grant the Saints their first win of the season next week.
14/19

Bears
2-3
The Bears had been playing great defense in the first half of games and losing due to horrid defensive play in the second half of games (Dallas & Detroit).
In Green Bay, the Bears turned it around, saving their great defensive play for the second half in Lambeau Field, pulling out a season saving win in true Bear fashion by forcing
five turnovers overall.
15/13
Buccaneers
3-2
The Buccaneers were hammered by an Indianapolis team playing without 3 of their
top players. Dreams of a top 10 power ranking are temporarily on hold.
16/20
Panthers
3-2
The enigma continues. Carolina improved to (3-0) on the road, thanks to a last second victory at New Orleans.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, they’re (0-2) at home, and Delhomme is out for the year… Don’t even get us
going on 101 reasons why the Panthers should get Drew Bledsoe out of retirement.
17/17
Eagles
1-3
The Eagles had a bye and will suit up in week 6 versus another team in a nose dive… The Jets.
18/21
Browns
2-3
The Browns completed plenty of big plays versus the Patriots, racking up over 350 yards on offense. Unfortunately for Cleveland,
they turned the ball over way too many times to hang with New England.
19/12
Broncos
2-3
Denver was crushed by 38 points at home versus San Diego.
Perhaps the Travis Henry situation was a distraction. But the Broncos have lost 3 in a row,
and could arguably be (0-5).
Fortunately for the Broncos, they have a bye in week 6. It may take a few weeks
to recover from this week’s pounding.
20/22
Bengals
1-3
The Bengals had a bye and return to action in a must win game at Kansas City. A loss would drop Cincinnati to three games below .500.
21/25
Texans
3-2
Houston rallied for a victory over the sinking Dolphins thanks to three field goals of at least 54 yards by Kris Brown.
The Texans are back to one game above .500 and are
still playing without Andre Johnson.
22/15
Chiefs
2-3
As we mentioned last week, these aren’t your Chiefs of recent memory with a tremendous offense,
and absolutely no defense… These are Herm Edwards’ Chiefs with practically
no offense, but a much better defense.
Unfortunately for Kansas City, “no offense” doesn’t cut it against the Jaguars… Yes we’re talking about
Larry Johnson’s 12 yards of rushing.
23/18
Lions
3-2
Detroit was crushed in Washington. Perhaps the Lions were still thinking about their comeback
win over Chicago?
24/29

Bills
1-4
The Monday night loss to Dallas had to be one of the most disappointing regular season losses
in Bills history. It was a game which Buffalo lead from start to almost finish… But five interceptions of Romo, two which went for TD’s,
one fumble recovery, a kickoff return for a touchdown, a thwarted 2 point conversion, and a perfectly timed time out before the would be game winning kick
were not enough to seal the deal… As an aside, in our opinion this game was lost on a 3rd down play call in the red zone with Buffalo leading by 8 points late in the 4th quarter.
There’s really no reason to call a pass when a run takes more time off the clock, and a field goal puts Buffalo ahead by 11 points. Instead, an interception (which our chief
editor predicted would occur if Buffalo did not call a run), killed the field goal and sparked one of the most
bizarre sequences of events in the history of the NFL, capped off by an onside kick batted forward for extra yards, and back to back 53 yard field goals, one which didn’t count, and one
which did the Bills in.
From a turnover differential perspective, the loss was reminiscent of the Cardinals
meltdown versus the Bears last season. One has to wonder if the Bills
will be able to get up for upcoming games after what happened Monday night… But we’re moving them up in the rankings
anyway. Not to be overlooked; the Bills appear to have a new starting QB in Trent Edwards.
And Buffalo could just as well have been (2-0) in his starts, with wins over two playoff teams from last season…
Lastly, how much better do the Bills look with the old uniforms? Unfortunately, they probably won’t want to use them anytime soon after last night.
25/24
Jets
1-4
The Jets blew a two score lead to the Giants, and Pennington threw another costly interception
while attempting to drive late.
26/26
Raiders
2-2
The Raiders had a bye and find themselves standing alone in first place in the AFC West
thanks to losses by the Chiefs and Broncos… But there is a distinction
between the power rankings and standings.
Oakland will face the resurging Chargers in San Diego in week 6. Can they hang on to
the top spot in the division?
27/27
Vikings
1-3
Minnesota had a bye and will attempt to climb back towards the .500 mark next week in Chicago.
28/30
Falcons
1-4
Atlanta grabbed 5 turnovers in Tennessee but still left with a loss to the Titans.
How similar to the Cowboys/Bills game… The Falcons now sit at three games
below .500.
29/23
Saints
0-4
With two weeks to prepare the Saints were still unable to grab their first win of the season, as they fell
at home to the Panthers who were playing without Delhomme…
At least they didn’t lose by three scores again.
30/28
49ers
2-3
For the fourth time in five games the 49ers were held to under 200 yards… This time by Baltimore. And it resulted in another loss.
On the plus side San Francisco kept Baltimore out of the end zone.
31/32
Rams
0-5
The Rams played to within 3 points of the top 10 ranked Cardinals, so pull out of the power rankings
cellar.
32/31
Dolphins
0-5
The Dolphins were unable to capitalize on another good game from Ronnie Brown,
sinking to (0-5), as Houston’s Kris Brown was too much leg, booting three field goals of
50 yards plus… Trent Green suffered a concussion and we wish him all the best.
