Giants
3-0
The Giants pitched a shutout in Tampa Bay. Are we witnessing
another famous
road winning streak in the making?
2/3
Colts
3-0
In a battle of ring wearing QB’s, Manning threw 4 TD’s to Warner’s
2 TD’s as the Colts upstaged the Cardinals in Arizona.
Dwight Freeney out 2 to 3 weeks with an
injured quadriceps.
3/5
Ravens
3-0
Baltimore beat up on Cleveland as
McGahee scored 2 touchdowns for 3rd time in three
games this season.
4/2
Vikings
3-0
An instant classic for Vikings’ fans as Favre connected with Greg Lewis on a
Hail Mary to ruin an upset bid by the 49ers.
5/7
Patriots
2-1
The Patriots bounced back from the road loss to the Jets last week with
a double digit victory over the Falcons. Wilfork left with a sprained ankle.
6/10
Saints
3-0
A win at Buffalo makes back to back outdoor road victories.
That’s a good sign for the
Saints. Pierre Thomas is back.
Jammal Brown placed on injured reserve with a hip injury.
7/9
Jets
3-0
Wins over New England and Tennessee back to back… That’s impressive
in spite of Tennessee’s record.
8/6
Eagles
2-1
Kolb threw for big yards again, this time avoiding interceptions
as the Eagles thumped the Chiefs. Jeff Garcia released and free agent
ex-Eagle middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter signed.
9/8
Falcons
2-1
Atlanta lost their first game this season. No shame as it was at New England.
And the Falcons played better than the score indicated.
10/11
Cowboys
2-1
Felix Jones and Tashard Choice ran all over the Panthers. Terence Newman
picked off Delhomme and returned it for a touchdown.
And the Cowboys overcame a poor first half
to beat Carolina on Monday night. Felix Jones out for several weeks.
11/4
Steelers
1-2
Pittsburgh suffered a second straight 4th quarter blown lead road loss,
this time at division rival Cincinnati. We all know this doesn’t happen if
Troy Polamalu was playing. But he’s out, and those are the facts.
12/12

Bears
2-1
Chicago overcame the letdown factor after their home win over Pittsburgh to squeak out
a road win at Seattle and improve to (2-1).
13/16
Chargers
2-1
The Chargers dodged a bullet when Pennington fumbled an exchange at the 1 yard line
early and then left the game
with an injury. Rivers and Jackson were stellar. Malcom Floyd got into the act.
The Chargers could be (0-3).
14/17
49ers
2-1
The 49ers lost a heartbreaker at Minnesota on Favre’s Hail Mary connection with
Greg Lewis.
File this one into the impressive loss category. It does nothing for
San Francisco in the standings. But it adds further credibility in the power
rankings.
15/22
Broncos
3-0
Coach McDaniels is doing a bang up job with a team that’s supposed to be in total disarray.
Of course the wins are against teams with a combined record of (13-34-1) a season ago.
But you can only beat the teams you’re scheduled to play… Big test next week at home
against Dallas.
16/23
Bengals
2-1
The tiger roared again as the Bengals knocked off the champs at home.
Cincinnati is just one fluke play away from being (3-0).
Can they keep it up?
17/14
Titans
0-3
Tennessee dropped to (0-3) as they fell on the road against the red hot Jets.
The Titans are clearly one of the better (0-3) teams in recent memory, and could still
school most other teams in the league on a neutral field… Next week
they head to Jacksonville for a must win game.
18/13

Bills
1-2
The Bills hung with the Saints until late in the 4th quarter
when it all fell apart.
Sound familiar? Think week 1 at New England, but not quite as bad.
19/19
Packers
2-1
The Packers took care of business at St. Louis. Although they gave
up more points than the power rankings care to see.
No rise this week for beating #32.
20/18
Cardinals
1-2
The Cardinals were lit up by Manning and the Colts. Once again Arizona
had no running game to speak of.
21/21
Panthers
0-3
Jake Delhomme losing games for the Panthers is becoming a bit too common-place.
DeAngelo Williams notched 64 yards on just 11 carries as the Panthers abandoned
the running game way too early in a loss at Dallas.
The Panthers are victims of a brutal schedule.
22/15
Texans
1-2
You can’t follow up an upset road win at Tennessee with a home loss to Jacksonville and
expect to be a playoff team… But that’s exactly what the Texans did.
23/20
Dolphins
0-3
A botched exchange between Pennington and Brown
fumbled through the end zone cost the Dolphins
in San Diego.
Pennington left with
an injured shoulder and is out for the year
as the Dolphins dropped
a winnable game for the second week in a row.
Miami traded with Kansas City for QB Tyler Thigpen
to backup new starter Chad Henne.
24/27
Jaguars
1-2
The Jaguars saved their season with a road win at Houston as
Jones-Drew rushed for three scores.
Then again, can we really say they saved their season
when the Jaguars aren’t that much of a contender?
Time will tell.
25/26
Seahawks
1-2
With Seneca Wallace under center, the Seahawks gave the
Bears a run for their money until Cutler found Devin Hester
for the game winner.
26/25
Raiders
1-2
JaMarcus Russell had another JaMarcus Russell like game as the Raiders
were no match for the Broncos. It’s time to get Garcia back and let him start.
27/32
Lions
1-2
Sing with me,
“The monkeys’ off their back. The monkeys’ off their back. Hi-ho, the derry-o
the monkeys’ off their back!”
Hey you, in the back! I didn’t hear you.
28/24
Redskins
1-2
Tag. You’re it! For future generations who might
stumble upon this in the archives– that was
code for Washington losing at Detroit, ending the Lions’ 19 game losing streak.
29/28
Buccaneers
0-3
Shutout at home. As a saving grace, at least it was versus the #1 ranked Giants.
Leftwich takes the fall, as if a QB change is somehow going to turn
this Pirate ship around.
30/29
Browns
0-3
The Haves and the Have-Nots. The Ravens Have, while the Browns Have-Not.
On second thought, the Browns might at least have a quarterback controversy.
Then again, can a team really have a QB controversy when they
aren’t competitive with either player at the helm?
31/30
Chiefs
0-3
The Chiefs’ offense was overwhelmed in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Kansas
City’s defense was lit up by Kevin Kolb for 327 yards through the air.
32/31
Rams
0-3
It finally happened… The Rams were passed in the weekly power rankings
as they lost at home to Green Bay while Detroit
upset the very Washington team which made
the Rams look semi competitive a week ago.
