1/1
Giants
11-3
The champs fell in Dallas and will play what amounts to a week 16 playoff
game at home versus the Panthers with home field throughout the playoffs
on the line.
2/4
Steelers
11-3
The Steelers pulled out another late win as they topped the Ravens in Baltimore
to take the NFC North and earn a first round playoff bye. A trip to Tennessee is on
deck as the Steelers’ goal now becomes earning home field.
As far as power rankings go,
sure the Steelers lost to the Colts, but with three quality wins in a row
including;
at New England, Dallas, and at Baltimore
they squeeze passed Indy and Tennessee in the rankings. That said
Tennessee may very well reclaim that number two spot next week.
3/2
Titans
12-2
Tennessee was upset at Houston and will face the Steelers in week 16
with a chance to lock up home field throughout the playoffs.
4/5
Cowboys
9-5
After letting one get away in Pittsburgh
the Cowboys bounced back with a key victory over the Giants
to stay in the playoff chase. If Dallas should miss the playoffs,
it will be fairly easy to point to their week 7 loss in St. Louis
without Romo.
5/3
Colts
10-4
The Colts grabbed win number ten, beating the Lions by ten, but it’s wild card at best.
6/6
Panthers
11-3
The Panthers took care of business versus the Broncos and suddenly have a chance
to clinch home field throughout the playoffs if they can beat the Giants
on the road in week 16. However, Carolina hasn’t locked up the NFC South
yet and their remaining schedule is much tougher than Tampa Bay’s.
7/7
Ravens
9-5
If you thought Baltimore’s first loss to Pittsburgh earlier this season
was tough to swallow, this one was even tougher.
And let’s not forget how close they came to beating Tennessee this year as well.
The Ravens could be (12-2) yet they might not make the playoffs.
8/8
Eagles
8-5-1
The Eagles are soaring at the right time, and thumped the Browns on Monday night.
Next week at Washington is another must win game.
9/9
Buccaneers
9-5
Tampa Bay dropped a key overtime game in Atlanta but they do have a favorable
remaining schedule compared to both Atlanta and Carolina and can still take
the NFC South.
10/11
Falcons
9-5
In their most important game this season,
Atlanta scored a key overtime win over Tampa Bay to stay in the playoff hunt.
Now the Falcons will play an even more important game this week at Minnesota.
11/15
Vikings
9-5
Jackson threw 4 TD’s in Arizona as Minnesota went a long way toward
clinching a playoff spot. If the Vikings win this week or if the Bears lose then
Minnesota will be
the champs of the NFC North just as our weekly standings projections had
it called for a good part of the season.
12/10
Jets
9-5
The Jets got back into the win column with a not so impressive victory over
the Bills. A trip to Seattle is on deck followed by a home game versus Miami
in week 17. They really need to win them both.
13/14
Patriots
9-5
New England kept their playoff hopes alive with a win at Oakland
as Cassel threw 4 TD’s following his father having passed away.
14/17

Bears
8-6
The Bears stayed in the playoff hunt with an overtime victory over the Saints
but their odds of making the postseason are quite slim.
Chicago is another team that could easily have a few more wins.
15/20
Texans
7-7
Houston upset the Titans at home in week 15 to get back to .500. The Texans’
story is as
exciting as it gets for a team not headed to the playoffs.
Without 4th quarter meltdowns against the colts and Jaguars earlier this season
the Texans could be (9-5).
16/16
Dolphins
9-5
Miami stayed in the hunt for the AFC East thanks to beating the 49ers at home.
What a story the Dolphins have been this season. But a blown
4th quarter lead at Houston in week 6 looms large.
Will Chad Pennington get the chance
to show up Brett Favre in week 17 in a battle to make the postseason?
17/13
Cardinals
8-6
The Cardinals were decimated by the Vikings at home in week 15. And it looks like
Vegas thinks they will mail it in again in week 16 as they are 8 point
underdogs to a New England team with nearly the same record.
18/12
Redskins
7-7
Washington hit rock bottom in week 15 losing at Cincinnati to fall to .500.
At this point a trip to the postseason would be shocking.
19/18
Saints
7-7
New Orleans was eliminated from the playoffs in week 15 as they fell to the Bears in overtime.
The 2008 season has been a story of close losses. The Saints could be (10-4).
20/19
Broncos
8-6
The Broncos dropped one at Carolina but are in control of their own destiny
in their quest to win the AFC West.
21/26
Jaguars
5-9
Jacksonville picked up win number five and will look to upset the Colts in week 16.
22/21
Packers
5-9
Green Bay dropped to four games below .500 as they were mildly
upset by the Jaguars.
23/22
49ers
5-9
The 49ers lost a close game in Miami even though they out-gained the Dolphins
on offense.
24/24

Bills
6-8
The Bills gave the Jets a run for their money before picking up loss number eight.
At this stage Buffalo is better off losing for draft positioning.
25/25
Chargers
6-8
The Chargers pulled out a miracle win at Kansas City to keep their
slim playoff hopes alive. They’ll have to beat Tampa next week while
relying on Buffalo to beat Denver.
26/23
Browns
4-10
Cleveland had no chance against the surging Eagles on Monday night
as they incurred loss number ten.
27/30
Bengals
2-11-1
Cincinnati upset the Redskins to earn victory number two. And to think we projected them
for two wins way back in preseason.
28/27
Chiefs
2-12
Chalk up another
blown 4th quarter lead as Kansas City lost a heartbreaker
in week 15 against the Chargers.
29/28
Seahawks
3-11
Seattle scored a come from behind win at St. Louis
to stay out of the cellar in the NFC West.
30/29
Raiders
3-11
The Raiders
gave up 49 points in a home loss to New England in week 15, but at least
they scored 26 of their own.
31/31
Rams
2-12
The Rams let one get away at home against the Seahawks which was just as well
considering the need for a good draft next April.
32/32
Lions
0-14
Detroit played to within 10 points of the Colts in Indianapolis which
isn’t so bad, but it was loss number fourteen.
