1/1
Giants
11-1
The champs took their road winning machine to Washington and
emerged with another big win.
On another note,
just a few days after the world got such a rude wake up call as to how dangerous
and ridiculous it is for
guns to be so freely available, Plaxico Burress showed everyone that hey, even
a top flight athlete with more body control than 99.99% of the world’s population
can still suffer a split second goof up, which is all it takes with a gun
to ruin a life.
2/2
Titans
11-1
Tennessee ran over Detroit en route to win number eleven in a Thanksgiving
Day romp.
3/4
Colts
8-4
The Colts improved to four games above .500 and stayed on pace
to grab the top wild card spot in the AFC thanks to a road win at Cleveland
where they only mustered 3 points on offense… It goes to show you
how much Jeff Saturday means to this squad.
4/5
Steelers
9-3
Pittsburgh scored key road victory, crushing the Patriots in New England.
With the Jets losing at home to Denver, the Steelers are back in the
hunt for a first-round playoff bye.
5/6
Cowboys
8-4
The Dallas passing game and pass rush were too much for a declining
Seahawks team to handle. The win keeps Dallas on pace to earn the
top wild card berth in the NFC.
6/7
Buccaneers
9-3
Tampa Bay remained tied for first with Carolina with a game in hand
thanks to scoring a home victory over the Saints.
7/8
Panthers
9-3
The Panthers pulled off a dramatic victory in Green Bay to remain tied for first with Tampa Bay, although
the Buccaneers have a game in hand… The win coupled with Washington’s
loss puts the Panthers back on pace for a wild card berth according to our
latest projections.
8/3
Jets
8-4
After the Jets beat the Patriots and Titans on the road– and with everyone
ready to forget their earlier loss at Oakland, and
their near home loss to Kansas City, the Jets reminded us
of their inconsistency in a week 13 home blowout loss to
the up and down Broncos. Yes, the Jets can beat anybody on any
given Sunday, but they can also lose to anybody too.
9/11
Ravens
8-4
Baltimore blew out the Bengals in Cincinnati. The Ravens are suddenly in the driver’s seat to
earn the AFC’s second wild card slot behind Indianapolis thanks to Pittsburgh’s
victory at New England.
10/9
Redskins
7-5
The Redskins suffered a key home loss to the Giants which is likely to keep
them out of the postseason. Even if Washington runs the table, they may
not get in.
11/13
Falcons
8-4
Atlanta continues to surprise and impress as they dominated the Chargers
as a 6.5 point road underdog. Our projections still show the Falcons
missing the playoffs, but they sure are getting closer and closer to
getting in!
12/12
Patriots
7-5
New England’s playoff chances suffered a major blow thanks to
getting thumped at home by the Steelers.
13/16
Eagles
6-5-1
McNabb showed that he still has it, and Westbrook had a game for the ages as the Eagles
obliterated the Cardinals on Thanksgiving night.
2008 will go down as a tale of another brutal schedule
as has been our storyline for the Philadelphia Eagles in recent seasons.
14/10
Cardinals
7-5
The Cardinals ran into an Eagles team primed to a have a huge game.
The loss dropped the Cards to two games above .500. But Arizona
has a comfortable lead in the NFC West.
15/15
Vikings
7-5
Minnesota took sole possession of first place in the NFC North thanks
to their Sunday night home victory over division rival Chicago.
But Williams and Williams have been suspended for the duration of the regular season…
On the plus side, the Vikings may catch the Giants in a meaningless game
week 17 with home field locked up throughout the playoffs– and that
could be the key to winning the NFC North in their suddenly weakened state.
16/18
Dolphins
7-5
Miami got back into the win column with a road victory in St. Louis.
But the Dolphins remain on the wrong side of the playoff bubble.
17/21
Broncos
7-5
Denver pretty much locked up the AFC West thanks to pulling off
a road upset of the Jets. In fact, Denver has been playing great ball
on the road as of late, which is key because if they make it
into the second round of the playoffs, that’s where they’ll be.
18/14

Bears
6-6
Chicago fell at Minnesota Sunday night. This loss may go a long way
towards keeping the Bears out of the postseason.
19/17
Saints
6-6
The Saints lost a close affair in Tampa Bay, and fell to .500. It’s almost time to start thinking about
next season, other than Marino’s passing yards record which Brees is chasing.
20/19
Packers
5-7
Green Bay dropped to two games below .500 after losing a close game
at home to Carolina. The playoffs appear out of reach for the Packers.
21/22
Texans
5-7
The Texans earned a Monday night victory against division rival Jacksonville
and it got them out of the cellar.
22/23
Browns
4-8
What could be worse than holding the Colts’ offense to just 3 points,
but somehow finding a way to lose the game?
If that doesn’t sum up the frustration of Cleveland’s season, I don’t
know what does.
23/29
49ers
4-8
Give props to the Niners for winning an East coast game in a tough place to
win like Buffalo.
24/24

Bills
6-6
Buffalo’s trip back down to earth from their early season success against
a weak schedule came full circle with a home loss to San Francisco in week
13.
25/20
Chargers
4-8
If the Chargers weren’t done at (4-7), they’re almost certainly done at (4-8)
thanks to getting blown away by Atlanta at home–
not to mention Denver’s road win against the Jets.
26/25
Jaguars
4-8
Like we’ve been saying most of the season; these Jaguars aren’t
like the teams of the past several seasons. Not even close.
27/26
Raiders
3-9
Last week we made the care that Oakland could have been in the running
for the AFC West if they hadn’t blown so many games in the 4th quarter.
They followed it up with a home loss to the previously
one win Chiefs– presumably in an effort
to jockey for draft position.
28/30
Chiefs
2-10
In a late breaking move to potentially blow good draft position, the Chiefs pulled
out a road win at Oakland.
29/28
Seahawks
2-10
Seattle was hit with loss number ten as Dallas’ pass rush and passing game
was far too much for the Seahawks to handle.
30/27
Bengals
1-10-1
No match for the Ravens. Especially one week after getting beat up by the Steelers.
31/31
Rams
2-10
The Rams dropped their 10th game of the season.
It seems like we’ve been writing that a lot in recent
memory.
32/32
Lions
0-12
Detroit suffered their worst Thanksgiving Day loss ever, and look
to be headed for the dreaded (0-16) record, barring
a seriously poor game by the Vikings, Colts, Saints, or Packers.
