1/1
Giants
10-1
The Giants flexed their road prowess with a victory in Arizona
without Burress and Jacobs… Of course what really makes the Giants tick is their line play.
2/2
Titans
10-1
Tennessee’s quest for perfection was ended by the Jets… Next quest?
Home field throughout the playoffs.
3/10
Jets
8-3
The Jets have strung together back to back road wins in two of the most unlikeliest locations–
at New England (last year’s undefeated dynamo), and at Tennessee (this season’s undefeated
wanna be)… In fact, the Jets have a 3 game road winning streak including their win at Buffalo in week 9.
The victories have put the Jets in the driver’s seat to win the AFC East and
to get a first round playoff bye…
4/4
Colts
7-4
The Colts kept their winning streak going with a road victory at San Diego.
The Colts appear to be a shoe in for the top wild card slot.
5/5
Steelers
8-3
The Steelers stayed ahead of the Ravens by 1 game with a game in hand
thanks to their Thursday night shut down of the Bengals.
6/7
Cowboys
7-4
Romo and Owens needed a tune up, and the 49ers were the unlucky recipients
of their air show.
7/8
Buccaneers
8-3
Down 17-0 at Detroit with major embarrassment hanging in the balance, the Bucs’
woke up in time to roll off 35 unanswered points en route to their 8th win.
But more importantly Tampa moved into a first place tie with Carolina in the NFC
South, and they have a game in hand on the Panthers thanks to their win
at home over Carolina earlier this season.
8/3
Panthers
8-3
Carolina learned something many teams have found out this season… Winning in Atlanta
is a relatively tall order. According to our latest projections, this loss may go
a long way toward keeping the Panthers out of the playoffs.
9/9
Redskins
7-4
Washington exacted a little playoff revenge from last season
and got back in the win column with a victory at Seattle.
According to our projections the Redskins are back on track to snag a
wild card spot.
10/6
Cardinals
7-4
The Cardinals couldn’t hang with the Giants at home. But let’s not forget
this is a team that beat Dallas, and very nearly won road games at Carolina
and at Washington.
11/11
Ravens
7-4
Baltimore bounced back from last week’s crushing at the hands of the Giants
to deliver the Eagles a fatal blow, while staying in the hunt for a
wild card spot… The Ravens need division rival Pittsburgh to win at New England
this week otherwise Baltimore’s chances to make the playoffs will take a
major hit.
12/13
Patriots
7-4
Matt Cassel threw for over 400 yards for the second week in a row
as the Patriots exacted a little revenge at Miami,
while staying in the hunt for a wild card spot…
If the Patriots can beat the Steelers at home in week 13, it would go a long way
towards landing them a wild card berth… And it would get the Patriots
back into the top 10 of the power rankings.
13/16
Falcons
7-4
The Falcons bounced back from their home loss to Denver with a key home
win over division rival Carolina. But will it be enough to make the playoffs?
We still have our doubts.
14/18

Bears
6-5
Chicago’s playoff hopes received a spark thanks to Green Bay’s loss at New Orleans combined
with their blowout of the Rams… Sole possession of first place in the NFC North is
on the line this week as the Bears travel to Minnesota.
15/19
Vikings
6-5
Minnesota climbed back into the hunt for the NFC North thanks to their
road victory at Jacksonville. The Vikings will battle the Bears at home in week 13
for sole possession of first place.
16/14
Eagles
5-5-1
We always find it ridiculous when quarterbacks are punished by their coaches and fans
for playing poorly at Baltimore… What quarterback doesn’t
play poorly against the Ravens on the road 9 times out of 10?
McNabb has been one of the best QB’s in the league the last 10 years and now he’s getting dissed the same
foolish way Drew Bledsoe got dissed for playing poorly against a handful of the league’s
top defenses. C’mon guys.
17/21
Saints
6-5
The Saints got back over .500 with a Monday night blowout of the Packers as
Brees was stellar as usual.
But New Orleans will still need a miracle to qualify for the playoffs.
18/12
Dolphins
6-5
The Dolphins have been a dynamic team this year.
However, their quest for a playoff spot may have come to an end in week 12
at the hands and the feet of New England’s Matt Cassel.
19/17
Packers
5-6
Green Bay’s hopes for winning the NFC North took a major hit Monday night as
the Packers were torched by Brees and Co.
20/22
Chargers
4-7
By all rights, the Chargers season should be done with their (4-7)
record… But Denver’s home loss to Oakland (their second division loss)
has left the door open for the Chargers to take the AFC West.
In fact, we currently project they will do just that with an (8-8)
record. Yuk! Of course if LT’s toe were to be healed by the postseason,
I don’t think many teams would want to play San Diego.
21/15
Broncos
6-5
How did the Broncos follow up their back to back road victories knowing they had a chance to pull away from
division rival San Diego in week 12?
They got crushed at home by the Raiders…
I remember early this season when we went out on a limb not ranking Denver at the top of the power rankings
on account of their questionable defense when all the other power ratings
around the country had them ranked at the top.
Isn’t it odd that our power rankings appear to have been removed from several major search
engines during this time
when our rankings have actually been the most accurate of the bunch?
22/25
Texans
4-7
The Texans earned their first road win of the season, scoring a victory in
Cleveland. Unfortunately they’re still in the cellar of the AFC South.
23/20
Browns
4-7
Cleveland’s nightmare of a season continued with a home to Houston– their fifth
home loss of the season… What was Cleveland’s sole home win?
It was against the champs of course…
This isn’t the place to get into it, but
we have noticed several questionable play call decisions that have bit the Browns
where it counts this season– right in the win department.
24/23

Bills
6-5
Buffalo got back above .500 with a road mauling of the Chiefs.
But this Bills team that was once on track to win the AFC East
is now on pace to finish last according to our latest projections.
25/24
Jaguars
4-7
Jacksonville’s miserable campaign continued with their fifth home loss
of the season. Yikes!
26/28
Raiders
3-8
The Raiders crushed the Broncos on the road… Let’s talk about three games
the Raiders let get away this season, that if won would currently
have Oakland in first place;
- Fourth quarter meltdown at Buffalo in week 3
- Fourth quarter meltdown home against the Chargers in week 4
- Fourth quarter blown lead at Miami in week 11
Yep. The Raiders coulda, shoulda, woulda have a record of (6-5)
right now.
27/26
Bengals
1-9-1
Cincinnati got back into the “L” column as they simply couldn’t
compete for 4 full quarters in Pittsburgh.
28/31
Seahawks
2-9
With Hasselbeck in action the Seahawks gave the Redskins a run
for their money. In the end Seattle was better off losing this game
for draft position, and that’s exactly what happened.
29/27
49ers
3-8
San Francisco ran into a Dallas team that was primed to have a breakout
game through the air. The result was loss number eight.
30/30
Chiefs
1-10
The Chiefs were hammered at home by the Bills. Draft Position City!
31/29
Rams
2-9
It’s time to forget about the Rams’ fluke win at Washington where they were dramatically
out-yarded by the Redskins, yet magically won the game. And it’s also time to forget
about the Rams’ win over the Romo-less Cowboys. The Rams are back to getting
crushed on a regular basis.
32/32
Lions
0-11
Detroit jumped out to a 17 point lead at home against Tampa Bay only
to surrender 35 unanswered points. Yep,
all signs still point to a winless season.
