1/1
Giants
8-1
The ability to win on the road versus other top teams
(such as in Philadelphia) is just one of the many reasons
the champs are #1.
2/2
Titans
9-0
The Titans remained perfect despite rushing for just 20 yards
at Chicago… Games like this are winnable
when you play top notch defense
and it’s virtually impossible for the
opposition to get to your quarterback.
3/13
Colts
5-4
Watch out league. The Colts pulled out a huge road win at Pittsburgh… A victory which
in our opinion will cement a spot in the postseason for the
now healthy Colts, assuming they remain healthy… Earlier this season when the Colts
were decimated by injuries, Manning pulled a couple of games out of his hat
they shouldn’t have won. Now that the Colts are healthy, those wins
(at Minnesota & at Houston) mean everything. We project the Colts to lose
no more than 1 game the rest of the way.
4/3
Steelers
6-3
The Steelers let one get away at home versus the Colts
thanks to some overly aggressive
play calling in situations where it wasn’t necessary to be
throwing the ball.
Their schedule has been brutal lately. And this loss
certainly won’t sink their ranking, especially
since the Colts are a much healthier, formidable team now.
5/4
Redskins
6-3
Washington had a bye and will get back to action in week
11 at home versus the Cowboys…
A win keeps the Redskins on pace to make the playoffs.
But a loss could ruin everything.
6/5
Panthers
7-2
The Panthers grabbed win #7 in a defensive struggle at Oakland…
With the Lions on deck it appears that (8-2) is highly
probable.
7/6
Cardinals
6-3
The Cardinals got more than they bargained for Monday night
against
division rival San Francisco. But when push came to shove
the Cards hung on for win #6 and a commanding lead in the
NFC West.
8/8
Cowboys
5-4
Coming off their bye, Romo is set to return in what can be billed as
one of the season’s first playoff games when the Cowboys
visit Washington.
A victory would put the Cowboys back into the playoff hunt,
while a loss would *keep* them off pace according to our
projections.
9/7
Eagles
5-4
With losses at Dallas, at Chicago, home to Washington, and home to
the Giants, the Eagles’ playoff hopes are in jeapardy.
Chalk it up to another brutal schedule thanks to
a strong NFC East… What would the Eagles’ record be if they played in
almost any other division? Probably (7-2), perhaps one better.
10/14
Ravens
6-3
The Ravens notched their third road victory of the season–
a blowout of the Texans, and appear to be on pace to grab
the AFC’s second wild card spot. Earlier this season they played
the Steelers and Titans to within 3 points each. They could be
(8-1). Their only bad game was against the Colts.
11/9
Buccaneers
6-3
Tampa Bay had a bye and will get back to action at home
in week 11 versus Minnesota. A victory is needed to keep
up in the NFC South with Carolina.
12/11
Falcons
6-3
The Falcons kept their winning ways going with an
incredibly important division victory against a
Saints team playing with their season on the line.
Knockout punch delivered by Ryan, Turner, White,
Abraham, and crew.
13/10

Bears
5-4
Playing without Orton the Bears gave the Titans
a good battle, holding Tennessee to just 20 yards
on the ground. But the Bears couldn’t stop the Titans’
passing game nor could they muster much offense
of their own… With two heartbreaking losses to winning teams
on the books (at Atlanta and home to Tampa Bay in OT),
and arguably one other at Carolina,
the Bears playoff fate could end up in the hands of
tie-breakers.
14/21
Patriots
6-3
The Patriots got back to doing what’s most important when it comes
to winning a division… What’s that you ask?
Winning home games against division foes– in this case, Buffalo…
In week 11 the Jets come to town. The victor will be in the driver’s
seat in the AFC East.
15/15
Vikings
5-4
Minnesota improved to one game above .500 with a key home
victory over the Packers. The Vikings project as finishing the
season on the playoff bubble. But a victory at Tampa
Bay this week could change that.
16/16
Jets
6-3
The Jets improved to three games above .500 with a smashing of
the Rams, a team with little to play for having had their
season ended the prior week at the hands of the Cardinals.
A trip to New England is on deck in week 11 in what amounts to
an in season playoff game. The winner will very likely take
the AFC East.
17/17
Dolphins
5-4
The Dolphins got back above .500 with a home victory over the
Seahawks… Miami is in the hunt for the AFC East. But to
emerge victorious they might have to sweep the Patriots
and/or avoid getting swept by the Jets.
18/12
Packers
4-5
The Packers fell below .500 thanks to dropping a game they couldn’t
afford to lose at Minnesota.
19/18

Bills
5-4
Buffalo’s hot start at the hands of weak teams has officially been
extinguished by three consecutive losses to their division foes.
For the Bills to have any shot at the postseason they have to get
back on the winning track this week at home versus Cleveland.
20/24
Jaguars
4-5
The Jags won big in Detroit to avoid what could have been their
third outright loss in a row as a favorite in Vegas.
21/25
Broncos
5-4
Denver stayed 1 game ahead of San Diego in the AFC West thanks to a furious
4th quarter comeback in Cleveland on the arm of Cutler.
22/19
Saints
4-5
The Saints’ playoff hopes were almost certainly
ended by the Falcons in Atlanta in week 10.
23/20
Chargers
4-5
The Chargers pulled out an uninspiring home
victory over the Chiefs to stay a game behind the Broncos,
with the Broncos
also having a game in hand.
24/22
Browns
3-6
With Quinn at the helm, Cleveland’s offense finally erupted, thanks in part
to facing the Broncos’ porous defense. Unfortunately, Cleveland’s own
defense collapsed in the fourth quarter.
25/26
Texans
3-6
The Texans were obliterated at home by the Ravens in what surely was a season
ending loss.
26/23
Rams
2-7
St. Louis fell by 44 points on the road against
the Jets… The Rams’ back to back upset wins over
Washington and Dallas have become
a distant memory now that their season is all but done.
27/27
Raiders
2-7
The Raiders fell to five games below .500 in a home loss to the Panthers.
28/28
Bengals
1-8
And for the good, clean chuckle of the week…
Cincinnati had a much deserved bye after earning their first victory of the season
in week 9.
29/29
Chiefs
1-8
For the third week in a row the Chiefs have played competitive football– this week at
San Diego.
In fact, if they could have hung on in the previous two, I doubt they would have gone
for 2 at the end of the game… The point I’m trying to make here is the Chiefs
could be (4-5). That would have placed them in the hunt for the AFC West.
30/30
Seahawks
2-7
With their week 10 loss at Miami, the Seahawks fell to five games below .500.
31/31
49ers
2-7
With Hill at the helm, Singletary’s 49ers gave the Cardinals all they could handle
in week 10.
32/32
Lions
0-9
After playing a close game against Chicago in week 9,
the Lions got back to the way of the blowout at the hands of
the Jaguars.
