Drew Brees tied Tom Brady’s mark for most completions in a Super Bowl
as the Saints upset the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.
Aside from Brees’ MVP performance, standouts include
Tracy Porter’s interception of Peyton Manning returned
for a touchdown with under 3 1/2 minutes to play,
Sean Payton’s decision to open the second half with an onside
kick (recovered by the Saints), and the Saints coming back from a 10 point
deficit to win (tying a record)… The Saints weren’t afraid to
take chances in their quest to win it all– in stark contrast to a Colts’ team
this regular season that was afraid to take the risk associated with
attempting to go perfect. Congrats to the champs.

It’s not often you see Peyton Manning blush. But when he was picked off by
Tracy Porter (returned for a TD) with the game on the line
in Super Bowl XLIV (at the 3:22 mark of the 4th quarter)
Manning knew he’d just thrown one of the most memorable
passes in Super Bowl history– for all the wrong reasons…
This Colts team had a chance to be perfect in 2009 – 2010, but
the organization was afraid to take that risk, mailing in their second half
in week 16 versus the Jets… This was quite a contrast to a Saints team
unafraid to take risks, as exemplified by their onnside kick to
open the second half of Super Bowl XLIV.
