Seattle Seahawks 2007 NFL Projection:
Seattle enters the 2007 campaign off a (9-7) season against a very light schedule in which the defense
surrendered more points than the offense scored.
Of course, Alexander only started 10 games
and Hasselbeck started 12 games. So one would think the Seahawks record might have been better otherwise.
However, losing 3 of 4 games overall versus the 49ers and Cardinals rose a bit of a flag.
Surely the Seahawks will be good enough on offense in 2007 to get a fair number of wins. But can the defense
hold up its end of the bargain?
Seattle's schedule in 2007 contains seven games versus what most would consider to be
playoff caliber teams as follows;
Throw in a road game versus the Rams in week 12, and the Seahawks play
a very tough five of six game stretch from week 11 through week 16.
And if the 49ers continue their solid home play, then the trip to San Francisco in week 4 makes another tough four
game stretch from week 3 through week 6.
With the above slate of tough games, the Seahawks won't be able to afford
injuries to the offense in 2007, or a sweeping by San Francisco and still expect to make the playoffs.
Based on the above analysis, we're cautious to pencil in the Seahawks for double digit wins in 2007.
Overall we're predicting a record of (9-7) for the Seahawks in 2007.
