Kansas City Chiefs 2007 NFL Projection:
Herm Edwards addressed Kansas City's defensive needs this offseason... Taking steps to improve the defense is usually a
wise move when more than half the games on your team's schedule are against top caliber teams
like the Chargers, Broncos, Colts, Bears, Jaguars, Bengals, and Jets.
In fact, four of the Chiefs' first six games in 2007 line up as; at Chicago, at San Diego, versus Jacksonville, and versus
Cincinnati.
That's potentially four losses by week 6...
While Kansas City's defense should be able to hold its own,
it's the Chiefs' offense that uncharacteristically may be the concern.
With so many top defenses on the schedule,
the offense must come out blazing in 2007.
But with sudden weakness on the offensive line, depth questions at wide receiver, likely starting QB Damon Huard will
have his work cut out for him.
If the Chiefs aren't able to survive the difficult schedule early on, then
we wouldn't be surprised if K.C. turns to Brodie Croyle to gain him some experience.
We're fans of Damon Huard's QB play. But we think the odds are that 2007 may turn out to be more of a transitional
season for
the Kansas City Chiefs.
We see 2008 as holding more promise for the Chiefs.
Overall we're predicting a record of (8-8), and third place in the tough AFC West.
