2006 NFL Projection:
It may be difficult to match last season's
12-4 record with a schedule that begins versus Dallas, versus Pittsburgh,
@Indianapolis, and @Washington, plus also includes cold weather
trips in December to New England and to Kansas City. But it may not be impossible either.
The tough as nails Jaguars should
be playoff bound again in 2006 barring any significant injuries on their solid defensive line.
And should
also be considered one of six teams with a legitimate chance to represent
the AFC in the this season's Super Bowl.
Regular Season NFL Predictions:
The following were FootballLOCKS.com's straight up, non point spread NFL
game projections for the 2006 Jacksonville Jaguars, displayed as predictions of which
games were likely to be won and lost.

Loss Projected - A lot of pressure knowing
the first four games are versus Dallas, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis,
and Washington. Perhaps a Super Bowl preview.
Win Projected - If these preseason predictions
hold water, losing the first game could work to create an extra
sense of urgency to beat the champs in this matchup. Unfortunately
for the Jaguars this game takes place on Monday night football,
so the kickoff temperature isn't as likely to be as high
as in a day game.
Loss Projected - Could be an AFC championship
game preview. A short week will make this game tough to win.
And the Colts have been the Jaguars regular season nemesis.
Win Projected - Another possible Super Bowl
preview… If the Jaguars make it out of their opening stretch
at 2-2 or better, they'll probably feel relieved.
Win Projected - Could be a much needed
home win in a maximum effort before the bye week. The Florida
heat is likely to wear on the Jets.
Week 6
Oct 15
BYE
3-2 at the bye if these preseason predictions
for the 2006 Jacksonville Jaguars prove worthy. The record could
be more than acceptable given the difficulty of the opening
four games.
Win Projected - Former coach Coughlin returns
on a Monday night and finds an equally good coach with an equally
good team. The Jaguars have already played versus Peyton Manning
so many times, they might find Eli just a bit easier to handle
at this (still early) stage of his career.
Win Projected - The Jaguars should tread carefully
heading to Ralph Wilson Stadium on a short week to face the
Bills in what could be a cold weather game.
Win Projected - Even without the Florida heat
in December, the Colts still prefer playing indoors, and the
Jaguars could be ready to pounce at Alltel Stadium.
Loss Projected - Arrowhead is a tough
place to get a win, especially at the end of December in the
cold.
